Hello!

Piste is arranging a song evening with free food and drinks at KY’s yläkertsi on Friday 17.10.2008 starting at 18:00. The event was a huge success last year, and is held in co-operation with Ernst & Young, whose young specialists will be present to talk to us about career opportunities.

Last year’s event was extremely popular - so don’t hesitate! Come and get acquainted with future colleagues and potential future employers, come hear about employment trends among BT-students, come meet the department’s employees outside the classroom and hear the latest news in the industry. Come and spend a fun evening networking, singing, eating and drinking in great company! The legendary afterparty will be held at the KY sauna.

Hello!

We extend the warmest thanks to all who attended the Business Technology evening. The presentations were outstanding and gave students better understanding of the fantastic career opportunities the BT-studies offer. The food was delicious and the punch refreshing.

Special thanks goes to company representatives from Nokia, Xtract and Accenture as well as the numerous faculty members, who stayed after the presentations to answer questions about the BT.

We hope that students now have better understanding of the Business Technology studies and superb career opportunities, and we engourage all students to choose the major they feel is right for them. Numerous students told us that BT will be their choise. We engourage all students who were elsewhere at the time and interested about BT to ask questions at piste(at)kyweb.fi. Piste members will answer them and if unable to do so, will direct you to faculty members who can.

Mursuille, BT-opiskelijoille ja muille opiskelijoille tarkoitettu Business Technology Evening on mahtava tapa saada tietoa Business Technology -laitoksen opiskelusta ja alaan liittyvästä työelämästä!

Tule KY:n yläkertsille 8.5 klo 18.00 kuuntelemaan mielenkiintoisia esityksiä työelämän ja laitoksen edustajilta.

Puhujat ovat taatusti mielenkiintoisia, ja antavat syvemmän ymmärryksen BT:llä opiskelusta ja käytännön hyödyistä työelämään:

Logistiikan alaa edustaa Nokian Business Development Director Petri Tervonen, Management Sciencen puolestapuhujana toimii Xtractin Project Manager Hanna Kettunen ja Information Systems tulee tutuksi Accenturen konsultti Anna Paajasen esityksestä. Eikä siinä kaikki; myös BT-laitoksen edustaja kertoo työllistymisestä ja palkoista SEFEn tilastojen pohjalta.

Älä jää pois! Opit BT:n eri osa-alueista, ja kukapa tietää – ehkä olet itsekin muutaman vuoden päästä ylistämässä BT:n opetusta ja taitoja, joita se on sinulle tarjonnut. Mahtijuttu myös miettiessäsi sivuainetta!

Logistiikka-aiheinen excu Itellalle on torstaina 24.4. klo 15:30!
Paikkana toimii Itellan pääkonttori, Postintaival 7A.

Tule kuuntelemaan, minkälaisia mahdollisuuksia Itella tarjoaa logistiikasta kiinnostuneille opiskelijoille. Tarjolla myös maittavaa pikkupurtavaa. Lähdemme porukalla koulun ala-aulasta 14:50, mutta paikalle voi tulla myös omatoimisesti.

- Games, including but not limited to: Texas Hold’em, Nintendo Wii, Monopoly, Alias, Pictionary.
- Snacks, various kinds
- Punch with berries

* Similar results may be acquired by using people other than from BT; however, the results may vary.

Hello,Piste-Accenture-joint-organized excursion to the Accenture sauna and leisure facilities just prior to Annual Ball kuntis was a great success!

The minute-long waiting due to “technical issues” was an amusement to BT-students, and we thank Accenture for their sense of humour. The presentation clearly demonstrated company’s adeptness as well as the room-filling unity of the renowned Accenture’s Strategic IT effectiveness (SITE) specialists. Judging by their happiness and enthusiasm, the company clearly merits the “Great Place to Work”-award now for the second consecutive year in a row.

After the presentation, we enjoyed a very nice buffet dinner with tortillas, guacamole and choco cake, some wine, other beverages and sauna. Then mingled a while, and continued our journey by taxi to Annual Ball kuntis.

We extend our humble thanks to honoured Accenture and all the SITE experts who were there to make it the best excursion ever!
